The Cumberland River below Cumberland Lake near Burkesville, Kentucky is one of the best kept trout fishing secrets in the Southeast. As of July 13, the river was still a bit high but fishing is excellent for Trout, Walleye, and White bass in the creeks.
• Brown trout are hitting spinners and crank baits at the ends of gravel bars.
• Walleye are hitting Night Crawler Rigs.
• White bass are in the creeks hot and heavy with good 2 to 3 pound fish being caught.
• Some good stripers are showing up around Burkesville and are being caught on live bait.

A new lure by Nemire Lures is catching a few fish. It is the Nemire Redfish Spoon in Orange and in Black. Both Stripers and Walleye are hitting the new lure. Do a search for Nemire Lures to find them. The Spoon and spinner combo is working well also on the white bass in white.
